Everyone wants to do his or her part to preserve our environment and reduce waste. Finke Gardens is committed to doing our part by reusing nursery pots whenever possible. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify some aspects of the program.
First, we would like to stress the fact that this is a reuse program. Any pots returned must be in reusable condition without cracks or tears. Because of current production cycles, any pots smaller than our own 4½” perennial pots can not be reused. Also, pots with other nurseries’ logos can not be reused.
Second, tree & shrub containers are especially welcomed. With rising petroleum and freight prices, these sizes make up a large percentage of our production costs. Because of the number of returned & reusable pots last year, we did not need to place an order for new pots this year. That enables us to hold most retail prices steady from last year! Thank-you!
Finally, we have posted a list of what can and can not be reused on the return crate. That crate is located in our parking lot near the bagged mulches. Please review that list before dropping off pots. If you have used pots that do not qualify for reuse, please contact your residential refuse disposal company to discuss recycling options.
If you have any questions about this program, please ask one of our staff members. Thank-you for your continued support of this program!
